This medication is applied for certain patients to treating of herpes simplex on the skin (genitals, mouth, lips, anus), shingles (herpes zoster), and chickenpox. ZOVIRAX SIDE EFFECTS:

The medication has such side effects as: vomiting, nausea, headache, and diarrhea. If you experience persisting or worsening any of the side effects tell your doctor immediately. Take it into account that doctor has prescribed this medication because the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many patients do not experience any side effects of the drug. Consult your doctor in the case of appearing any of this unlikely but serious zovirax side effects: dizziness, hallucinations, sleepiness, trouble speaking, tingling/numbness of hands or feet, mental/mood changes (agitation, slowed thinking, anxiety, confusion), loss of consciousness, vision changes, seizures, swollen glands (lymph nodes), decrease in urination, signs of infection (e.g., fever, persistent sore throat), dark urine, yellowing eyes/skin, persistent nausea/vomiting, easy bruising/bleeding, severe tiredness. People experience any allergic reaction of the drug very rarely, but consult your doctor immediately if you have it. Serious allergic reaction has such symptoms: rash, severe dizziness, swelling, itching, trouble breathing. ZOVIRAX PRECAUTIONS:

If you experience any allergic reactions inform your doctor. Your doctor should be aware of your medical conditions especially if you have such problems as: HIV infection, kidney problems, problems with the immune system, cancer. ZOVIRAX INTERACTIONS:

Your doctor or pharmacist may already be acquainted with any possible zovirax interactions. Do not start, stop or change the dosage of any medicine consulting the doctor. Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of: probenecid. Your doctor should know about all medications you are taking in especially listed above.

NOTES:

Stop all sexual activity during an outbreak until it is completely healed. Your doctor or pharmacist may already be acquainted with any possible drug interactions. Do not start, stop or change the dosage of any medicine consulting the doctor. Always use effective barrier protections (e.g., latex or polyurethane condoms, dental dams) during all sexual activity. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details. Don't give the medication to any other. Keep all medical prescriptions. Try not to miss a dose, but if it happened, take it as soon as possible. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Only your doctor or health care professional can change or double your dose.
