HOW TO USE WELLBUTRIN SR:

This is oral medication. Take it once or twice a day without food. If you experience nausea take it with food. To avoid seizure take wellbutrin with interval of at least 8 hours or as prescribed by your doctor. You should swallow this medication whole without crushing, chewing, or breaking the pills. Doing so will destroy the slow release of the drug and may increase your risk of side effects, including seizures. When you start taking the drug you may experience trouble sleeping. Notify your doctor if you have sleeping problems. Avoid taking wellbutrin before going to bed. Your dosage depends on your medical condition and response to treatment. To reduce the risk of side effects such as sleeplessness and seizures your dose should be increased gradually. Take exactly the dose prescribed by your doctor without changing it. Taking more than the recommended dose will increase your risk of having a seizure. The usual maximum dose is 300-400 milligrams per day (maximum single dose 150-200 milligrams). Do not stop taking this medication without notifying your doctor. Try to apply the remedy regularly. It is recommended to do it at the same time in order not to forget. It may pass about 4 weeks before you feel benefit of the remedy. Talk to your doctor if your condition persists or worsens.

WELLBUTRIN SR SIDE EFFECTS:

You may experience such wellbutrin side effects as dry mouth, constipation, trouble sleeping, increased sweating, strange taste in mouth, muscle/joint aches, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, stomach/abdominal pain, flushing, headache, loss of appetite, dizziness, or blurred vision. Inform your doctor immediately in the case of worsening or persisting any of the side effects. If you experience such unusual but serous side effects as fainting, fast heartbeat, severe headache, chest pain, uncontrolled movements (tremor), unusual weight loss or gain, ringing in the ears, mental/mood changes (e.g., agitation, anxiety, hallucinations, nervousness, confusion, restlessness, muscle pain/tenderness/weakness), change in the amount of urine inform your doctor immediately. This drug may rarely cause seizures. Seek immediate medical attention if you have a seizure while taking wellbutrin because you should stop taking the drug. If you experience serious allergic reaction ask for medical help. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction may include: swelling, severe dizziness, rash, itching, trouble breathing. If you experience some wellbutrin side effects not mentioned above notify your doctor immediately. Don't forget that your doctor has prescribed this medication because the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people do not have serious wellbutrin side effects.

WELLBUTRIN SR PRECAUTIONS:

Tell your doctor if you have any allergic reaction. This remedy is not recommended under some medical conditions. This remedy is not recommended if you suffer from seizures, eating disorders (e.g., bulimia, anorexia nervosa). This medication should not be used if you are suddenly stopping regular use of sedatives (e.g., benzodiazepines such as lorazepam) or alcohol, which can cause a higher risk of seizures, personal or family history of psychiatric disorder (e.g., bipolar/manic-depressive disorder), personal or family history of suicide thoughts/attempts, high blood pressure, kidney problems, head injury, brain tumor, liver problems, heart problems, diabetes, alcohol/drug dependence, intention to quit smoking. This drug may make you giddy or drowsy. Be attentive while carrying out actions requiring high attention, such, for example, as driving or using machinery. Limit or avoid alcohol. Alcohol can increase your risk of giddiness and seizures. Avoid combining the medication with other medications containing wellbutrin, because it may increase the risk of seizures. Elderly people may be more sensitive to this drug and to side effects because their kidneys work worse. This medication is not advised during pregnancy and can be taken only if it's really necessary. Discuss all pro and contra with your doctor. This medication occurs into breast milk. If you take the drug consult your doctor before breast-feeding. Children whose mothers took the medication during the last 3 months of pregnancy may experience some side effects including persistent feeding or breathing difficulties, jitteriness, seizures or constant crying including persistent feeding or breathing difficulties, jitteriness, seizures or constant crying. But don't stop taking wellbutrin without your doctor direction.

WELLBUTRIN SR INTERACTIONS:

Your doctor or pharmacist may already be acquainted with any possible wellbutrin interactions. Do not start, stop or change the dosage of any medicine consulting the doctor. In combination with such remedies as MAO inhibitors (e.g., moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, furazolidone, linezolid, selegiline, isocarboxazid, tranylcypromine), certain x-ray dyes such as iomeprol, sibutramine, thioridazine you may experience very serious wellbutrin interaction. If you are currently using any of these medications listed above, tell your doctor or pharmacist before starting wellbutrin. If you are currently using or have recently stopped taking an MAO inhibitor within the last 14 days, tell your doctor or pharmacist before starting wellbutrin. Your doctor should be aware of the drugs you are taking, especially of: amantadine, diabetes medications (e.g., hypoglycemic drugs such as glyburide, glipizide, or insulin), HIV drugs (e.g., efavirenz, nelfinavir, ritonavir), levodopa, nicotine products (e.g., patches, gum, or spray), regular use of sedatives (e.g., alcohol, alprazolam), stimulants (e.g., cocaine, ecstasy, amphetamine, ephedrine), warfarin, antidepressants (e.g., paroxetine, desipramine, fluoxetine), antipsychotics (e.g., haloperidol), beta-blockers (e.g., metoprolol), antiarrhythmics (e.g., propafenone, flecainide), cyclophosphamide, thiotepa, carbamazepine, orphenadrine, phenobarbital, or phenytoin, antipsychotics (e.g., chlorpromazine), tricyclic antidepressants (e.g., amitriptyline), corticosteroids (e.g., prednisone) or theophylline, among others. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information. Large amounts of caffeine and other stimulants, such as those found in weight loss and cold/sinus medications, can increase the chance of seizures with this drug. So look through attentively all the labels of your medication to find out if they contain caffeine and other stimulants (e.g., ephedra). Consult your doctor or pharmacist.
