Plendil is applied for treating high blood pressure (hypertension), what may result in preventing strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Plendil belongs to the class of calcium channel blockers. By blocking calcium, this medication relaxes and widens blood vessels so blood can flow more easily.

It is recommended to swallow the tablet whole, without crushing or chewing it, to reduce risk of side effects. In order not to forget take this remedy at the same time. As far as most people with high blood pressure feel well it is necessary to continue taking this medication even if you do not feel sick. This drug is not effective if you use it only when chest pain occurs. It is very important to take plendil regularly as prescribed to help prevent chest pain. As far as grapefruits reduce effectiveness of this medication try to avoid them. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details. Do not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor.
