Evista is applied for preventing and treating bone loss (osteoporosis) in women after menopause. Maintaining strong bones by slowing bone loss helps to reduce the risk of fractures. This drug is different from hormones (including estrogens and progestins). The principle of work of this remedy consists in acting like estrogen (as a selective estrogen receptor modulator or SERM) in some parts of the body. Evista helps to preserve bone mass, but it does not affect the breast and uterus like estrogen or relieve symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes. This medication is not recommended for use in women before menopause. It should not be used in children.

HOW TO USE EVISTA:

It is an oral medication. It is recommended to take evista one time a day (with or without food) or as prescribed by your doctor. In order not to forget take this remedy at the same time. You may experience hot flashes, sweating, or leg cramps. Inform your doctor in the case of worsening or persisting any of the side effects.
