Cozaar is a kind of angiotensin receptor blockers. You may feel full benefit of this medication in about 3-6 weeks if you apply it for treating high blood pressure As far as most people with high blood pressure do not feel sick it is recommended to continue take cozaar even if you feel well.

COZAAR SIDE EFFECTS:

Giddiness, lightheadedness, blurred vision, or a stuffy nose may occur as your body adjusts to the medication. If Inform your doctor immediately in the case of worsening or persisting any of the cozaar side effects. Don't forget that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. If you experience such unusual but serious side effects as fainting, stomach/abdominal pain, severe nausea, decreased sexual ability, change in the amount of urine, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, unusual fatigue, muscle pain notify your doctor immediately. If you experience serious allergic reaction ask for medical help. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction may include: rash, itching, swelling (especially of the face, lips, tongue, or throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you experience cozaar side effects not mentioned above notify your doctor immediately. Many people using this medication do not have serious cozaar side effects.

COZAAR PRECAUTIONS:

Tell your doctor if you have any allergic reaction. Your doctor or pharmacist must know your medical conditions, especially if you have such problems as kidney disease, liver disease, high blood levels of potassium, heart problems, severe dehydration (and loss of electrolytes such as sodium). This drug may make you giddy. Be attentive while carrying out actions requiring high attention, such, for example, as driving or using machinery. Limit alcohol. It is recommended to get up slowly to prevent giddiness and lightheadedness. Inform your doctor about taking the drug before you have surgery. Elder people are more sensitive to the side effects of the drug especially giddiness. Cozaar should be used only when clearly needed during the first three months of pregnancy. It is not advised to apply the remedy during the last 6 months of pregnancy because it may cause harm to an unborn baby. Discuss all pro and contra with your doctor. It is not known if this drug passes into breast milk. Breast-feeding is not recommended due to the potential harm to the nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

COZAAR INTERACTIONS:

Your doctor or pharmacist may already be acquainted with any possible cozaar interactions. Do not start, stop or change the dosage of any medicine consulting the doctor. Your doctor should know about all the medications you are taking especially of: digoxin, fluconazole, lithium, "water pills" (diuretics such as furosemide; potassium-sparing diuretics such as amiloride, spironolactone, triamterene), rifampin. Look through the labels on all your medicines attentively (e.g., cough-and-cold products, diet aids, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs - NSAIDs such as ibuprofen and naproxen for pain/fever reduction) to find out if they contain ingredients that could increase your blood pressure. Consult your doctor about how to apply the remedy safely. Low-dose aspirin, as prescribed by your doctor for specific medical reasons such as heart attack or stroke prevention (usually at dosages of 81-325 milligrams per day), should be continued.
