This medication may rarely cause a severe intestinal condition (pseudomembranous colitis) due to resistant bacteria. This condition may occur weeks after treatment has stopped. Use of this medication for prolonged or repeated periods may result in oral thrush or a new vaginal yeast infection (oral or vaginal fungal infection) notify your doctor immediately. Contact your doctor if you notice white patches in your mouth, a change in vaginal discharge or other new symptoms. If you experience serious allergic reaction ask for medical help. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction may include: swelling, severe dizziness, rash, itching, trouble breathing. Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you experience some not listed amoxicillin side effects. Don't forget that your doctor has prescribed this medication because the benefit to you is greater than the risk of amoxicillin side effects.

AMOXICILLIN PRECAUTIONS:

Tell your doctor if you have any allergic reaction. Your doctor or pharmacist must know your medical conditions, especially if you have such problems as kidney disease, a certain type of viral infection (infectious mononucleosis). As far as the remedy removed by kidneys, elder people are more sensitive to it. The medication is not recommended during pregnancy. Discuss all pro and contra with your doctor. AMOXICILLIN INTERACTIONS:

Inform your doctor about all the remedies you are taking, especially of: allopurinol, methotrexate, live bacterial vaccines, tetracyclines. Before taking amoxicillin, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are also taking probenecid. Probenecid slows down the removal of amoxicillin from your body, resulting in higher levels of this antibiotic in your bloodstream. This medication may decrease the effectiveness of combination-type birth control pills. This can result in pregnancy. Do not share amoxicillin with others. Don't forget that your doctor prescribed the medication only for certain conditions and don't use it for other infections without your doctor prescriptions A different medication may be necessary in those cases.
