Allegra is an antiallergic drug. It treats symptoms of seasonal allergy. The symptoms may include runny nose or itchy nose, sneezing, itchy throat, and watery, itchy, or red eyes. HOW TO USE ALLEGRA:

Take this medication orally twice a day. You can do it with or without food depending on your doctor prescription. The bottle is needed to be shacked thoroughly if you are taking suspension. Try not to use allegra with some fruits (orange, apple, grapefruit) because it may lead to increasing of its influence. It is better to take the drug with water. Aluminum and magnesium (they can be the part of antacids) can lower the absorption of this drug. Do not take antacids within 2 hours of taking this medication. Don't change your dose. Don't forget that your dosage depends on your medical conditions and on your response to cure. As for children, the dosage depends on their age. If you take allergic test, don't take the drug before getting the result of the test. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more details. Inform your doctor if your conditions have changed.

ALLEGRA SIDE EFFECTS:

Stomach upset, back pain, menstrual cramps, cough, stuffy nose, fever, earache or dizziness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. This medication does not usually cause drowsiness when used at recommended doses and under normal circumstances. However, this drug may make you dizzy; therefore use caution engaging in activities that require alertness such as driving or using machinery. A serious allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seeks immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other allegra side effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because the benefit to you is greater than the risk of allegra side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious allegra side effects.

ALLEGRA PRECAUTIONS:

Tell your doctor if you have any allergic reaction. Your doctor or pharmacist must know your medical conditions, especially if you have such problems kidney disease. Limit alcoholic because it may lead to exacerbation of allegra side effects. Elder people can be more sensitive to the drug especially if they have kidney problems. Allegra is not advised during pregnancy and can be taken only if it's really necessary. Discuss all pro and contra with your doctor. This medication occurs into breast milk. If you take the drug consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

ALLEGRA INTERACTIONS:

Your doctor or pharmacist may already be acquainted with any possible allegra interactions. Do not start, stop or change the dosage of any medicine consulting the doctor. Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of: antacids containing aluminum and magnesium, St. John's wort. Examine all the instructions on all your drugs (e.g., cough-and-cold products) because they may contain additional antihistamines that could exacerbation side effects. Consult your pharmacist about the safe use of those products.
